Jesus and Missional Leadership

Published by PaulsDz on July 2, 2011

A new guy at church comes up to the pastor and says, “Pastor Jim, what can I do…” the pastor stops him and says, “Just call me Jim. If you call me Pastor Jim then I have to call you Parishioner Pete. Sounds odd so let’s skip it.” Grady Shuman told me that and I laughed. Then I came across… Read more →

Straight talking Jesus: two things to embrace

Published by PaulsDz on June 29, 2011

“Woe to you…for you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. Woe to you…for you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte (convert), and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves” (Matthew… Read more →

FUN running in my Vibram FiveFinger shoes

FUN running in my Vibram FiveFinger shoes

Published by PaulsDz on June 28, 2011

I’m having a blast running in these shoes. I got them hoping they would help with my Achilles tendon problem. Wow, did they ever. At the gym I always had pain after about 30minutes of cardio work. Now with the Vibram Bikila LS it is almost perfect. I know, sounds like an infomercial. I run a bit more than 3miles… Read more →

A new Protestant church is being established in France every 10 days

A new Protestant church is being established in France every 10 days

Published by PaulsDz on June 22, 2011 | 2 Responses

Martin Robinson did an interview with the French church leader Rafael Anzenberger. It is short and in it he says something astounding: “a church every 10 days opening up in France.” I am really impressed with the way the French National Council of Evangelical Churches is looking into the future. Many of its current leadership will be retiring soon and… Read more →

The most shocking statistic that comes out of the latest study on Muslim’s in Europe is that by the year 2030 in “Austria, Muslims are projected to reach 9.3% of the population…, up from 5.7% today; in Sweden, 9.9% (up from 4.9% today); in Belgium, 10.2% (up from 6% today); and in France, 10.3%” (Pew Forum). Helping people follow Jesus

Helping people follow Jesus

Published by PaulsDz on June 18, 2011

A friend of mine, Phil Kingsley, passed this video on to me. Pretty great! I love the way it focuses on helping people follow Jesus instead of making programs, meetings and such for a church. Thought you might enjoy it too. [vimeo http://www.vimeo.com/24570032].

Missional hero: Glory

Missional hero: Glory

Published by PaulsDz on June 17, 2011

I am looking for a missional hero. So, of course, I’m starting with Jesus. Just about everyone says Jesus was a great person. He was a person on a mission. So, being on his mission is being ‘missional’ like Jesus. Getting the glory or having a glorious day, what was that like for Jesus? I guess there are lots of… Read more →

Loving our Muslim Neighbors: Video

Loving our Muslim Neighbors: Video

Published by PaulsDz on June 15, 2011

Victor Hashweh gave this amazing talk on loving our Muslim neighbors at the HOPE II conference.  One of my favorite quotes from the talk was: “Muslims in Europe, God has created a hunger in their hearts for Christ. We have a golden opportunity to reach out to them.” and “In the last 20 years more people (Muslims) have come to… Read more →

Missional hero: Devotion in prayer

Missional hero: Devotion in prayer

Published by PaulsDz on June 13, 2011

Looking for a missional hero? I am. So, of course you start with Jesus. So here is how he started teaching the new missional people around him to pray. Start praying to God the Father and tell him he is excellent and amazing. I decided to give it a go and spent some time telling God how superlative I think… Read more →
